Glasgow loves Christmas and we Glaswegians embrace every moment of it.
So what is there to do in Glasgow over the festive period?
The Christmas Markets:
Head over to the markets and enjoy a gastronomical treat, a festive tipple or pick up some unique and quirky Christmas gifts.
George Square and St Enoch square is where you’ll find the markets. It’s a great opportunity to try out the street food of Glasgow. From Bratwurst to Chocolate Crepes, they’ve got it.
Go check them out, it’s a great way to get into the Christmas spirit!
Here are some other markets taking place in the city:
Riverside Christmas Festival
7th & 8th December (11am-4pm)
Hotel Du Vin, 1 Devonshire Gardens Christmas Market
8th December (10am-7pm)
The Briggait, A Vegan Connections Christmas 2019
14th December (11am-4pm)
Santa Dash:
Fancy running 5k in a Santa suit? Well here’s your chance! The race sets off at George Square on 8th December where you can join in with Santas running around the city. Great fun and a great opportunity to raise money for charity.
Christmas at the Concert Halls:
Carol concerts & orchestral delights are just a few examples of what’s on in December at the Concert Halls.
Glasgow is a UNESCO city of music after all, so this is a perfect way to enjoy the musical Christmas festivities of Glasgow.
Panto & Movies:
A trip to the Panto is a must during the festive period. From Pinocchio to Snow White to Jack and the Beanstalk, the Glasgow Panto’s got it sorted. You’ll find yourself watching the cast of River City perform while the audience shouts out ‘IT’S BEHIND YOU!’ We do love a bit of banter in Glasgow.
Or if you fancy a Christmas Film, The Glasgow Film Theatre & EatFilm at Sloans are showing It’s a Wonderful Life & Elf.
Food & Drink:
How about a tour with The Glasgow Food and Drink Tour? We have a few dates available until 12th December but there’s always Gift Vouchers to treat someone to some culinary fun. It’s the perfect Christmas gift!
Have a look at our Booking Page & Gift Voucher Page for more info.
Glasgow’s certainly got it covered when it comes to Christmas, so go and have some fun & let the festivities begin!
